Need critical regard

Hey everybody

I'm kind of new to the writing game, well I've been writing most of my life, it's just only become serious recently. Anyway I've been wirting short stories (aiming for twelve by the end of the year) and I have finished one. What I really need now is some critical reception. What could I do better, what is good, does it all make sense etc. Of course, during the first to wherever I'm up to now drafting process, I have had one person aiding me slightly, but I really want more feedback. So anyway I was wondering if some people here could help me with that. Basically I'm not going to put it up on this post because it is 5 a4 pages and well yea. But if anyone is interested in helping could then please just reply on here with an e-mail address and I'll send them a copy which they can scrutinise in anyway and send back to me with notes for improvement.

      good luck with the writing.

      I've got too many projects going right now to help you...

      but many areas have tons of writer's groups where they do critiques. Might want to contact the reference department of your local library...they might know of one in the area...

      if you want to take an online course in short fiction writing...Gotham Writer's Workshop does a good job. I've taken some courses through them, my gal too...

      not cheap...but you get professors who are published writers...and all in all it is good. They always do critiques of writing..

        thanks for the advice.

        Thats something I'd definatly like to look into, but I barely have money for writing suppies, never mind classes haha. But yea, it is the sort of thing I really need to get involved in. If you ever have time to have a look in though just send me a message, because the more help the better. Of course it's up to you.

          no problem...

          plenty of writer's groups are free....
          I saw in your profile that you are from New Zealand. I don't know if the groups are much different there. But here in the US...most are free and you can get plenty of feedback there...
